To repeat what has been said : I wish there were many more foreign language books written like this! The language level is perfect for an intermediate to even early-advanced learner. Some key words and phrases are used just often enough that they feel familiar quickly, but the author's real skill is that the storyline, character development and flow never suffer for want of being a "Spanish learner's" book! I bought both of the " ...de los Vientos" books thinking I would make myself read a few pages every evening before returning to my usual contemporary literature fare (english).Instead, I found myself in a can't-put-this-down situation, pulling my kindle out at the hairdresser, standing in line, waiting for the bus, etc.;
I hope Christine Tiday keeps these coming!

Capitán de los Vientos Novels for learning foreign languages nº 4 Spanish Edition eBook Christine Tiday Reviews
Excellent for learning Spanish and verb tenses. Also, an interesting novella. The story is the second in the series and both novellas are very interesting.
Interesting plot and characters, though the Spanish is not perfect. I have noticed a few errors interspersed through the text, but not enough to interfere with the readability.
Enjoyed reading this as an advanced beginner/early intermediate level spanish learner.
This is a continuation of "La Rosa de los Vientos", If you liked that then you will of course want to see what happens next. Will the prophecy be fulfilled?
Had me on the edge of my seat even with my bad Spanish. Good story...tense to the very end. I highly recommend.
Considering that the story has to be told using simple sentences and words for intermediate Spanish level, it was at least capable of holding my interest and definitely helpful in expanding my Spanish comprehension. I've been reading as many of this type of book that I can find but there aren't enough of them. Most books in Spanish are either beyond my ability or totally children's books which are too boring. So thank you to the author of this series!
Why oh why are there not more books like this?
I have about 1 year of college (plus some independent studying) of Spanish, and this book was the perfect level for me. I chose to use a dictionary at times, but overall could tell what was happening even if I didn't want to look the words up. Reading it on the kindle allowed me to look the English definition of most words up with a click of a button (I reset my default dictionary to a Spanish-English one). Also the storyline was interesting and the characters engaging!
There are so many people learning Spanish as a second language, I don't understand why there are not more books written at this level. Most books for "beginning level Spanish" are not novels at all, but a collection of old fashion short stories that are pretty boring and more difficult to read.
To repeat what has been said I wish there were many more foreign language books written like this! The language level is perfect for an intermediate to even early-advanced learner.
